Recently I discovered something even worse. Corruption in crematorium! The people there demand money from someone who come there to CREMATE THEIR LOVED ONES. I'm telling you, the karma these people are accumulating will affect them and their families not only in this life but also the next 1000 lives.
The most disgusting people are found in the government agencies. Worst of the worst with boosted egos.
This is so worrying now. Most of these people now don't even care about consequences. They out right DEMAND. As if it's set by the government itself (probably is).


This is not just in government. It is also prevalent in private, corporates also specifically in procurement. Asking comission!

BBMP is THE most corrupt organization in India, if not the world. Have you glanced at its reviews on Google? They have single handedly nullified Bangalore's growth by inflating costs through their bribes and the inefficiency that comes with hiring the worst contractors. The bribes also allow construction companies to skirt environmental/pollution standards. The list is endless. 

For comparison, has anyone seen the eye-watering rate at which Hyderabad has grown in the last decade? Beautiful World Class highways and flyovers. They give the West a run for its money. They have slight issues with the environment, but nothing remotely close to the Tartarian cesspool that is BBMP/Karnataka government. 

Bangalore has always developed despite of (NOT BECAUSE OF) the limitless corruption of the state and municipal governments. Its growth has already stalled. Just compare with Hyderabad. If there is one evil that one could rid Bangalore of, to produce the greatest positive effect on the city, and breathe life into it, it would be THE BBMP. 

I don't really know what can be done about this. Karnataka just keeps ping-ponging between Congress and BJP. The winning party is also always the opposition party at the Centre 🤦 Which means the central government is always at odds with the state. No hope at all. Better to fuck off to somewhere else. And this is coming from someone that believed in Bangalore supremacy 😔.

In our street, they are replacing the sewage pipes and first they opened up the road and left the sewers open for 2 weeks since they didn't have permission to cut into the main road. When they eventually did cut the road, they cut off the water lines for a few houses including ours. We then had to pay 12k to get a new line for their mistake. After they laid the new sewer line, they have just left all the rubble right in the street with no place for even a car to move and it becomes extremely slippery every time it rains.

Long answer. We always knew we needed to spend more on public infrastructure. Planning commission warned the state govt that we needed better public transport back in 80s and 90s. This was based on projections and not actual feedback from the ground. No one took anything seriously. Half of Bangalore doesn’t have water connection. There are areas (bellandur for example) that employs probably millions of people but doesn’t have a metro so everyone relies on private transportation and you know what happens there everyday.

Ofcourse, many people blame it on influx of people, sudden boom etc., etc.,  Some are true but most are false.   
When Govt., was alloting lands to big tech companies and build apartements, they could easily anticipate the width roads and infrastrucutre, water, electricity required.  While bangalore doesn't have shortage of homes, office spaces despite influx of people how come only roads, drianage and govt infrastructure has become a problem ?   
It is just lack of vision, cheap politics has caused most of the problems in not just bangalore but any city for that matter.

No, there's some truth to what you said, I agree. That stretch of ORR is GTA'esque straight outta video game, but that's kinda limited to only that area, if you start coming towards the old city, problems of every other Indian city does pop up,like water logging after a short rain of 30 mins, roads becoming narrower. But one good thing Blr can take away from Hyd is the wide roads, which blr can't take away now, since they'd have to run a demolition drive in the entire city. 

Your comparison is still not very fair IMO, you're comparing HYD's best to idk where in blr but if I can make that assumption probably Whitefield or smn? There are some very good stretches of road here in blr too, but that's what they are, good stretches, just like the one you saw in Hyderabad. 

All Indian cities are in dire need of better infra, and none of them are so good to say that infra in this city is ABCx times better than infra in another city. Bengaluru's E-City, Whitefield and ORR stretches were once (2000 to 2010) as good (possibly even better) as what you see in Hyderabad's Financial District / Hi-tec City. But massive growth in companies setting up offices in Bengaluru, and resulting influx of people from all over India to Bengaluru meant that infrastructure development couldn't keep up and that's why we see such situation in Bengaluru today. Of course, Karnataka govt's inefficiency and corruption are to blame as well. 

If Govt of Telangana doesn't invest enough in Hyderabad's infrastructure over the next few years, then it will have the same fate as Bengaluru.

Bangalore's population grows x + n. Bangalore's infrastructure starts growing as well, but the rate of growth of population far outpaces the rate of infrastructure growth. 

This unplanned &amp; unscientific inflow of migration is what leads to idiotic things like unplanned and unscientific infrastructure building, which further leads to things like flooding (because of encroachment and unplanned building planning), choked out roads and a city that is perpetually under construction. This rate of migration also adds stress to our already stressed out public transport and other infrastructure. 

All this is further made worse by the step motherly treatment from the center that only has money for its favourite child (Gujarat) or it's other most greedy and obese children (UP/Bihar/other northie states). WHICH IS MADE EVEN WORSE, when they squeeze the southern states(Karnataka being amongst the worst affected) of their coffers so they can continue to bail out constant failures of the other states.
